Stockholm, Sweden, and San Jose, California, Sept. 27, 2007 – Enea (NordicExchange/Small Cap/ENEA), a world leading provider of network software and services, today announced that under an agreement entered into during the first quarter of this year, Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes) is using the Enea Element™ middleware and professional services in the development of a new wireless base station and other infrastructure for Hughes’ satellite base station subsystem. This new base station will provide both voice and packet data services.

“We’re excited to be working with Hughes on this project,” said Virginia Walker, senior vice president of corporate strategy and marketing at Enea. “Middleware development is one of the most complex, costly, and time-consuming aspects of deploying reliable, high-quality converged network systems and services. Our Element middleware, together with our top-notch professional services, provide an off-the-shelf communications and network management solution that is enabling Hughes to focus its development efforts and accelerate deployment of its new satellite equipment.”
