Larger Photos, Shorter Descriptions and Web-Inspired Layouts

Cheyenne, WY, Feb. 15, 2012 – Multichannel retailer Sierra Trading Post announces a streamlined, web-inspired redesign of its six catalog titles, with the first edition hitting mailboxes in March. The redesign comes on the heels of an initiative to improve the look and feel of SierraTradingPost.com.

“We know online shopping is experiencing tremendous growth, and we recognized a need to make our catalogs an extension of the new SierraTradingPost.com,” says Travis Rolf, creative services manager of Sierra Trading Post. “Our goal is to employ design techniques that bridge the gap between catalog shopping and online shopping.”

Here’s what to look for in the new redesigned catalogs:

  • Larger, more detailed product photos
  • Shorter, more benefit-focused descriptions
  • Additional lifestyle and model shots
  • More customer favorites and reviews
  • Web-inspired layouts

“Our customers only have so much time in their day for shopping,” says TJ Croissant, marketing manager at Sierra Trading Post. “We want to make it easy to scan the whole catalog, and walk away with an idea of our breadth of product. Then, we encourage our catalog audience to visit our website to make specific purchase decisions.”

Once online, SierraTradingPost.com customers will benefit from customizable search options, the ability to log “quick view” details without leaving the current page, more precise product features, and a personalized dashboard to manage catalog/email subscriptions, shipping information and order history.

In addition to its main catalog, Sierra Trading Post publishes five specialty catalogs including Sports & Outdoors, Hot Deals, Woman, Home & Gift, and Men’s Classics. To request a catalog, visit SierraTradingPost.com.
