Regent Street, London W1 is to launch a new shopping app to coincide with the 2012 edition of The Regent Street Guide, this July in readiness for welcoming more visitors than ever before this summer.

Initially designed for iPhone, the app will showcase Regent Street’s diverse shopping, fashion and lifestyle offer with a live mapping system that consistently evolves with the area. The Regent Street shopping app will be hyper accurate and detailed, delivering a reliable representation of Regent Street. This promises to be the most comprehensive mobile shopping map in the West end.

To encourage the user to share information there will be live Twitter and Facebook feeds. Users can follow topical conversation, offers and join regentstreetonline.com where they can sign up for the Regent Street newsletter. The events team will keep the app posted with dates and information such as the Regent Street Festival on 2 September 2012 and the Regent Street Christmas lights switch-on. Users can view a picture gallery and local landmarks in 3D as well as check transport information in real time such as tube stations, service updates and live departure boards. Local bicycle hire locations can also be tracked down, even informing the user of the number of bikes available at any one time. Uniquely designed for pedestrians the Regent Street shopping app complements the Regent Street walking tour app, both of which are part of Regent Street’s long term digital strategy ensuring Regent Street shoppers have the ultimate mobile shopping experience.

To complement the Shopping App, The Regent Street Guide this year includes shops and restaurants in adjoining streets to Regent Street such as Conduit Street, Great Marlborough Street, Glasshouse Street and Brewer Street, the Regent Street Food Quarters, Heddon Street and Swallow Street as illustrated in the comprehensive street map at the back.

The Guide will be distributed to all four and five star London Hotels and through Visit London, Visit Britain, regional tourist boards, incoming tour operators and Eurostar. New shops, hotels and restaurants included in this latest edition are the Café Royal Hotel London, Strada, Four Salon, Ugg Australia, Superdry, Sebago, Gilly Hicks, Hollister, Jack Spade, Coach and Whole Foods Market.
