Tony Harris appointed new head of SSAB Europe

Tony Harris has been appointed new head of SSAB Europe effective February 1, 2025. He transitions into this role from his current position as Head of Sales and Business Development at SSAB Europe.

He has a strong commercial background from both small and medium-sized enterprises and multinational corporations. His expertise covers not only sales and business development but also operations and general management.

“Tony has played a crucial role in driving SSAB Europe’s progress, demonstrating a deep understanding of our company’s operations and culture”, says Johnny
Sjöström, President and CEO of SSAB. “His extensive market knowledge and commitment to international customers will be vital, as we continue our journey towards fossil-free steel production.”

Since joining SSAB in 2014, following the merger with Rautaruukki, Tony has served as a key member of SSAB Europe’s Management Team. Upon assuming his new role, he will also join SSAB’s Group Executive Committee. Tony will succeed Olavi Huhtala, who earlier has announced his retirement.
