Stockholm Arlanda Airport is currently in a major development phase. Early this summer, the first part of the new Marketplace will be finished, together with a new security checkpoint. A number of new shops and restaurants will also open. Among the new additions at Arlanda are a new 7-Eleven with a new concept and as many as five new Pressbyrån convenience stores.

A new security checkpoint is being built in Terminal 5 with purpose-built premises and state-of-the-art technology. Immediately adjacent to this, the new Marketplace – the biggest investment ever in commercial operations at Arlanda – will open. The Marketplace will feature Nordic design and have 11,000 square metres of commercial space. The first of three phases will open in the summer of 2023, and the entire Marketplace will be completed in late 2024/early 2025.

To meet customer needs, the airport is creating good opportunities for passengers to shop, whether this is planned or more spontaneous in nature. Kiosks are a speedy and efficient concept that offer a wide range of options at attractive prices, which makes them appealing to many different customer categories. Consequently, six new kiosks will open at Arlanda this summer.

“Our customer surveys show that many passengers are mostly looking for the same assortment as in their everyday lives. There is also demand for outlets with a wider range of prices, and it should be easy to shop there. At our airports, a kiosk should always be nearby in all of our terminals and piers. We are really pleased that so many new outlets are opening this summer, “says Charlotte Ljunggren, Chief Commercial Officer at Swedavia.

Reitan Convenience is the company behind the opening of one new 7-Eleven, with a new concept, where people can buy breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as five new Pressbyrån convenience stores. One of the new stores will be located in the new Marketplace. The company will also open one 7-Eleven and one Pressbyrån at Göteborg Landvetter.

“We always want to be in places where there are a lot of people, with our affordable range of food, drinks and everyday services. With these outlets, we will be able to reach out to both Swedish and international customers at the airports with our new concept. In tough economic times like these, it is especially positive for us to have a big business deal like this that ensures good revenue over the longer term,” says Anna Wallenberg, CEO of Reitan Convenience Sweden.

Reitan Convenience Sweden AB (RCS) is the franchisor for Pressbyrån, 7-Eleven and PBX in Sweden. Around 350,000 people visit one of their 400 shops each day.
