TIETO CORPORATION          PRESS RELEASE                8 December 2014 at 9.00 EET

Tieto and the leading stainless steel producer Outokumpu have agreed on expanding their partnership in infrastructure server capacity services. The renewed three year agreement will cover all Outokumpu locations globally. The agreement includes both centralized and on-site server capacity services as well as SAP ERP platform management services that can be scaled according to the customer's needs.

Tieto has been Outokumpu's infrastructure partner since 2012. During this time, Outokumpu has merged with Inoxum, which created a need to harmonize the solutions in the new global company. Outokumpu is aiming to increase its cost efficiency with consolidation and modernization of current services in terms of capacity, service model and processes. Tieto serves as a transformation partner in these needs.

“Tieto’s productivity cloud solution helps Outokumpu to reduce the risks in our production environments. It increases flexibility of service and the capacity utilization on the global scale which drives the overall service cost down. Tieto had a proven track record with Outokumpu in implementation of the services which for its part effected the decision of choosing a service provider,” says Patrik Ekström, CIO at Outokumpu.

“We have good cooperation with Outokumpu and we are glad to expand our service scope to cover all Outokumpu sites globally. Our offering portfolio, for example cloud services fit very well to these needs,” says Kimmo Hannus, Senior Customer Manager for Outokumpu at Tieto.

“Steel industry is a key area for us and we have been building our industry understanding for years. Whole manufacturing industry is strongly consolidating its operations and with its customers Tieto has been able to fast and flexible turn the synergies into savings and increased productivity,” says Jaakko Tapanainen, head of Manufacturing Industry at Tieto.

Tieto Cloud Server offers agile, flexible and secure capacity services, scaling according to needs onsite. It is easy to take into use: the self-service portal allows customer to order new capacity in only three minutes. Tieto Cloud Server is an innovative service combining the best features of public and private cloud brought into your own network.
