Viking Line announces competition for moving picture: Would you like to see your artistic vision in a prominent place on Viking Glory?

Create the video for the gigantic screen in the new Torget meeting place.

 Viking Line is holding a competition that is open to all and is looking for video or animated art for the Torget, the central meeting place on Viking Line’s new flagship, Viking Glory. The competition runs from June 8 to July 31, 2021. People can compete individually or in a group. The eye-catching feature in the Torget consists of a gigantic LED screen that stretches across two storeys of the vessel. The company is now looking for an artistic vision featuring a sea or archipelago theme for this Motion Wall.

“We’re looking for calm, evocative video material that fits in with the maritime setting. The most important thing is to convey what the archipelago means to you with the help of moving images,” says Viking Glory’s Launch Manager, Lotta Lindroos.

“We want to offer everyone an opportunity to present their artistic vision of the most beautiful new cruise ship on the Baltic Sea. The competition is therefore open to amateurs, students and professional artists,” adds Viking Line’s Head of Marketing & Online Sales, Ninna Suominen.

The recommended length of video entries is 60 seconds. First prize is 2,000 euros. The winner will also get a luxury cruise on the new Viking Glory.

Viking Glory is one of the world’s most climate-smart passenger ships. It will start serving the Turku–Åland–Stockholm route in early 2022.
