Visma is pleased to announce we have signed the commitment to integrate the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) initiative as part of our strategy, culture and day-to-day operations.

By joining the UNGC, Visma will be part of a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices. With this announcement, we are proud to join thousands of other companies globally that are committed to taking responsible business action to meet our societal goals.

The UN Global Compact is a call to companies to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Participating companies are also taking action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with more than 15 000 companies and 3 800 non-business signatories based in over 160 countries.

“The principles of the UN Global Compact are very much in line with our ambitions at Visma with regards to human rights, the environment and anti-corruption,” says Visma CEO Merete Hverven. “Not only is participating in the UNGC a great fit for our sustainability goals, but it also sets a strong example for our customers, employees, and industry peers.”

Visma’s Head of Sustainability, Robin Åkerberg, adds: “2021 was a breakthrough year for Visma, as we were able to collect comprehensive environmental data for all of our companies for the first time. Joining the UN Global Compact is the logical next step for us, allowing us to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and further align our goals with an international standard.”
