Wallenstam has now got the green light for start of construction of about 600 new apartments and can begin the work on developing Mölnlycke Fabriker into an attractive and centrally located area. This is clear since the zoning plan for Mölnlycke Fabriker has now gained legal force.

“The notification that we can now get started is wonderful and welcome news. In Mölnlycke Fabriker, we are doing more than just constructing buildings. The development here will provide about 600 new homes, will inject more life and vibrancy into the business sector and the area itself and local residents will also gain access to a fantastic sports arena,” says Marina Fritsche, Regional Director at Wallenstam.

The preparatory work for the area has been extensive and construction will start shortly of the first phase, involving about 120 rental apartments.

“We hope to be able to welcome the first tenants at year-end 2020. This project involves rental apartments, which will mainly be allocated through the municipality’s housing queue,” says Marina Fritsche.

The zoning plan for Mölnlycke Fabriker is based on an agreement between Wallenstam and Härryda Municipality from 2013. Early in the summer, notification was received that the Land and Environment Court had dismissed the appeals about the zoning plan for Mölnlycke Fabriker that private citizens had lodged. There was an opportunity to appeal the court’s decision for a few weeks but now the zoning plan has gained legal force and construction can start.
