Teatergatan in Gothenburg is flourishing and continuing to develop with wonderful new businesses. Today there is a string of established and completely new restaurants, bars and cafés on the street. Among Wallenstam’s tenants, the popular wine bars Juan Font and Enoteca Sassi recently expanded their commercial premises, the restaurant TAQ has just opened and soon visitors will be enticed by wonderful new culinary experiences at Bar Pavalas and Evolushi.

“Teatergatan has undergone a major transformation and has developed from a quite sleepy back street into a popular thoroughfare with modern new apartments and wonderful restaurants, wine bars and cafés. This is the result of deliberate and long-term work to develop both our properties and the area itself with several fine new businesses,” says Marina Fritsche, Vice CEO and Regional Director for Gothenburg.

Among Wallenstam’s commercial tenants on Teatergatan, both Juan Font and Enoteca Sassi have moved up a gear by renovating and expanding their commercial premises. In early June, the owners of the popular Viktors kaffe will open Bar Pavalas at Teatergatan 30. Over the past three years, Victors kaffe has been ranked highest in Gothenburg as “The Café Experience of the Year” in the prestigious Swedish Gastronomy Prize competition. The new Bar Pavalas venture is a French bistro with Swedish influences which will serve small dishes featuring ingredients from local producers and growers together with carefully selected wines. A little later in September it will also be possible to enjoy sushi in a modern style, a fusion of main courses and sushi tacos, which is a completely new concept in Gothenburg, at Evolushi at Teatergatan 32, which will then open its second branch in Gothenburg.

During the summer, Teatergatan will be a bit more in the spotlight as Wallenstam together with Higab, Avenyföreningen, Trafikkontoret and all the businesses there, will transform Teatergatan into a lively summer street. Walkways will be widened, parking places will be removed and businesses will move onto the street. On Friday, June 3, a summer party is being arranged with musical performances, DJ and exciting activities on the street. This event will recur on a number of occasions during the summer.

Wallenstam’s commercial tenants on Teatergatan include Bar Pavalas, Evolushi, Isabelle, Jimmy & Joan’s New York, Juan Font, Pierres Gent Shop, Poh-Keh, Enoteca Sassi, TAQ and The Melody Club.
