Wihlborgs signs lease with JM in Malmö
Wihlborgs has signed a lease with the housing developer JM for 1,400 m2 in the city block, Sirius, under construction in Nyhamnen in Malmö.
Sirius is adjacent to Malmö central station, next door to the Slagthuset property and the building that currently houses JM.
“We need new premises, but would like to stay in Nyhamnen. It is an attractive area, with good communications and is facing an exciting future, which makes Sirius an excellent choice. Sirius provides us with new, modern premises that allow us to work flexibly and facilitate meetings with our customers,” says Susanne Persson, Regional Manager at JM.
“We are pleased to be able to offer JM a straightforward solution that enables it to remain in the area, but in modern premises adapted to its needs,” says Anders Jarl, CEO of Wihlborgs Fastigheter.
Another tenant has just signed a contract for 2,150 m2 in the Sirius block.This means half of the property’s 7,000 m2 are now let and negotiations are ongoing with several other interested parties.
Nyhamnen is the next major development area in Malmö and its proximity to the city centre and the station has led to the area sometimes being referred to as southern Sweden’s most central location. Wihlborgs already owns some ten properties in the area and has been allocated land for approximately 25,000 m2 of additional office space.
