Wihlborgs signs lease with the City of Malmö
The City of Malmö will assemble the new medical, health and social care administration on Kungsgatan and has signed a ten-year lease with Wihlborgs for 5,400 m².
The new administration will move into premises currently occupied by the County Administrative Board in the yellow-brick building Karin 14 on Kungsgatan/ Drottninggatan. The Board will move out on 30 September, whereupon the premises will be renovated. The premises will be ready for occupation on 1 December.
“Since the County Administrative Board informed us of its plans to move out, we have considered various scenarios for the property. When we heard that the City of Malmö needed a single location where it could organise the new administration, both parties understood that this was a good solution. The design of the premises is suitable for the needs of the administration and the space does not require extensive redevelopment. We can therefore provide access to the premises relatively quickly,” says Anders Jarl, CEO of Wihlborgs Fastigheter.
“We are very satisfied with the solution, which has many advantages. The premises will enable us to gather the entire administration management and staff departments in the same building. The central location in Malmö means we are accessible to visitors and it offers good commuting opportunities for our employees. Additionally, two other administrations in the City of Malmö are located close by, which will facilitate our collaboration with these,” says Director of Administration Gisela Green.
The new medical, health and social care administration will be responsible for benefits and activities for the elderly, adults with physical impairment and adults with somatic symptom disorder. The main activities are home-help services, assisted living facilities, medical care in the home and rehabilitation.
