Racehall is constructing Sweden's largest indoor go-kart track just south of Stockholm
Starting in the fall of 2024, go-kart enthusiasts can compete on Sweden's largest indoor go-kart track in Botkyrka, just south of Stockholm. The track will be approximately 1,000 meters long and can accommodate more than 30 go-karts simultaneously.
The construction will involve a large hall with a curved roof without pillars to create a safer track and to provide an optimal racing experience for drivers and spectators. Adjacent to the track, there will be a two-story entrance building. Visitors will be able to witness the excitement on the track through panoramic windows from the O'Leary's sports restaurant, which will be built on the second floor.
"We aim to build Sweden's largest and most technologically advanced indoor go-kart track. It involves well-designed tracks and high-performance go-karts for fast lap times in a safe environment. Additionally, having a restaurant nearby allows us to combine the passion for sports, good food, and create memorable moments for all who visit us," says Racehall's CEO, Flemming Grene Thomsen.
Following the success in Denmark
Three years ago, the Danish-owned Racehall built the world's largest go-kart track outside Copenhagen, Denmark. After several successful years in Copenhagen and previously in Aarhus, they are now opening what will be Sweden's largest indoor go-kart track and the most environmentally friendly.
"We are very environmentally conscious, focusing on minimizing our environmental footprint. We use non-toxic special gasoline, LED lighting, solar panels, and natural ventilation. This has made Racehall 'best in class' in Denmark, and it will be the same in Sweden," says Flemming Grene Thomsen.
Botkyrka municipality as a crucial partner
Botkyrka municipality has been a vital partner during the permit process.
"We are delighted that Racehall has chosen Botkyrka for its large facility. It will bring great joy to both young and old residents of Botkyrka. I am already looking forward to racing on the track with my children," says Emanuel Ksiazkiewich, chairman of the municipal board in Botkyrka.
"We have had excellent cooperation with Botkyrka municipality throughout the permit process. The granted permit was a prerequisite for our agreement to purchase 3 hectares of land from a private landowner to become a reality. We are pleased that we have come this far and can now begin construction," says Flemming Grene Thomsen.
O'Learys restaurant as part of the experience
The restaurant will have 170 seats, and visitors will be able to follow the action on the track through TV screens and panoramic windows.
Ferdi Korkmaz is the franchisee for O'Learys.
"Racehall is one of the most exciting and innovative entertainment venues, and we are pleased to offer both lunch and dinner guests a combination of adrenaline rushes and a high-class dining experience," says Ferdi Korkmaz.
A place for everyone
Racehall will offer go-kart school for children, youth, and adults, with training times tailored to different age groups and skill levels. Special promotions and offers will be available for conference guests and individuals who regularly go-kart in clubs and/or individually.
Racehall will start accepting pre-bookings in early 2024. Different price levels will be offered, including various types of subscriptions and group sizes.
