Centrally located by Ursvik torg
The Kvarnstugan block will have a central location by the square forming Ursvik torg in Sundbyberg’s new western Ursvik district. The district is sustainable and close to nature and green areas with very good transport links to central Sundbyberg and Stockholm.

“Despite an operating environment that has brought many construction projects to a standstill, we are shouldering our responsibility and continuing Sundbyberg’s development as a city through the creation of new rental apartments and a vibrant property,” says Petra Karlsson Ekström, CEO of Förvaltaren.

Timber frame and low energy consumption
The building is being constructed with a timber frame and low energy consumption, and in addition to 113 rental apartments ranging from studios to three bedroom apartments, there will be a café, restaurant and cultural facilities in the form of a library and premises for music and dance classes. The buildings are expected to be ready for occupancy during 2026.

“We are proud to have a real estate company that contributes to Sundbyberg's growth. Without companies like Förvaltaren, we cannot solve our region's biggest problem - the housing shortage,” says Peter Schilling, chairman of the municipal board in the city of Sundbyberg.

Förvaltaren and Zengun collaborated on the project planning in 2023 and are currently laying the foundation.

“We are pleased to be entrusted with the continuation of the project as it enters its next phase. The timber-framed Kvarnstugan represents a good example of how we want to work – long-term, sustainably and climate-smart. The block will be an exciting new landmark in Ursvik,” says Kajsa Flack, Business Unit Manager at Zengun.
