Two custom variants of A263 series Servo Accelerometers chosen for military aircraft platform
London, UK 7th May, 2013 – Sherborne Sensors, a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of sensors for military, aerospace and industrial applications, has been selected by global defence, aerospace and security company BAE Systems to supply two custom variants of its A263 series Servo Accelerometers. The contract follows the decision by the Sultanate of Oman to purchase 12 Typhoon and 8 Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer (AJT) aircraft.

The Hawk is currently being used to train pilots for 21 of the world’s air forces, and is one of the most successful and proven AJT aircraft in the world. Sherborne Sensors’ flight-qualified accelerometers have been ordered under a sole source of supply contract by BAE Systems, and will be used within the Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) of the Hawks.
