Tackling under age sales with innovation on the high street: local businesses in Jersey are leading the way with digital identity app Yoti

London, UK, 16th July 2019 - Local businesses in Jersey, including The Channel Islands Co-operative Society and Alliance Supermarket are fighting underage sales and the rise of fake IDs by using Yoti’s digital identity app to verify the age of customers for age-restricted goods and services. Individuals can now use the free Yoti app to prove their age instead of carrying important photo ID documents such as their driving licence or passport - documents which the government and the police advise people to leave safe at home. Jersey is one of the first countries to employ the technology.

Fazer has agreed with Lahti Energia Oy to have a bio-heating facility built on Fazer’s factory area in Lahti. The heating facility will produce bioenergy to be utilised by the mill, bakery and rye crisp production lines as well as the new Xylitol production facility, which will be ready in autumn 2020. The fuel for the new heating facility will be derived from the side streams of the production in the factory area, mainly from the oat hull mass which will be left over following the xylitol production process. Södra posts a strong result in a declining market

IRLAB reports top line results from Phase IIa study with IRL790

IRLAB today announced initial results from a first 28-Day Phase IIa trial with IRL790 in patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease. The study objective was to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of IRL790 in patients with L-dopa induced dyskinesias (involuntary movements). Three independent methods were used to assess dyskinesias, the Unified Dyskinesia Rating Scale (UDysRS), Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS) and standardized patient reported diaries.
