SSAB to donate EUR 25,000 to benefit children and young people in Finland

SSAB is celebrating the centenary of Finland’s independence by donating a total of EUR 25,000 to organizations working to benefit children and young people in locations where our Finnish sites are. The personnel has chosen the beneficiaries. During the early summer, every SSAB, Ruukki Construction or Tibnor employee in Finland had a chance to suggest any suitable causes working to benefit children and young people. A total of 65 suggestions were received. The personnel at each site chose the final local beneficiaries by voting for the causes they wanted the company to support.

Domestic sales of brewery beverages fall – beer tax should be lowered to match Estonia’s

In the January–June period of 2017, domestic sales of beer, cider and long drinks totalled 219.0 million litres. Beverage sales fell by 2.6 million litres, or 1.2 per cent, on the corresponding period of the previous year. These figures are based on sales statistics compiled by the members of the Federation of the Brewing and Soft Drinks Industry: Captol Invest, Hartwall, Olvi, Saimaan Juomatehdas and Sinebrychoff.Member companies of the Federation of the Brewing and Soft Drinks Industry sold a total of 186.7 million litres of beer by the end of June.
