A car manufactured by Ford was the first car owned by 41% of Brits, reveals research from car finance and dealer specialist www.carfinance247.co.uk.Popular models included the Capri, Fiesta, Cortina, Escort and the Anglia. Vehicles manufactured by Austin and Vauxhall were respectively the second and third most popular first cars. The survey questioned motorists aged 18 and over, and encompassed a huge range of first cars from an Austin A40 bought in 1947, a Toyota Corolla in 1983, through to a Peugeot 208 bought last year. When asked which is their favourite brand of car owned, 17%
