Ilmatar’s wind farm project in Hamina significantly expanded

Ilmatar Windpower Plc’s wind farm project Neuvoton, located in Hamina, Finland, has been expanded to the area of the City of Kotka, and from around 20 wind turbines to 40 turbines. The new name of the project is the Mäyränmäki wind farm project. Ilmatar has so far entered into land lease agreements for 113 estates in the area. The size of the entire area is around 2,650 hectares, of which around 1,600 hectares are located in the City of Hamina and 1,050 hectares in the City of Kotka. Ilmatar Windpower Plc has signed the land lease agreements and initiated an assessment project to establish a wind farm in Alajärvi, Finland. The wind farm is planned to consist of around 15 turbines with the combined nominal capacity of 45–67.5 MW. The project area is marked as a wind power production area in the regional plan. Ilmatar Windpower Plc has signed the land lease agreements for a wind farm area in Saarijärvi, and is planning to construct six wind turbines in the area.
