    ICA Bank sells stake in MasterCard

    ICA Banken has disposed of the whole of its shareholding in MasterCard and will recognise the capital gain of SEK 81 million in the fourth quarter of 2015.The shareholding was acquired when MasterCard became a publicly listed company and all members received shares in proportion to their size.     ICA Insurance to launch on 1 October, featuring locked-in premium and ICA-bonus

    ICA Bank’s subsidiary ICA Försäkring (ICA Insurance) will open for business on 1 October, initially offering property & casualty insurance to private customers.     ICA Bank has now received permission to conduct insurance business from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority. ICA Bank will now form a subsidiary, ICA Försäkring AB, with its own management and board.     Anna-Karin Laurell, CEO of Bukowskis and Sven Lindskog CFO of ICA Gruppen have been appointed as new members of ICA Bank’s Board of Directors.Anna-Karin Laurell, recently took over as CEO of Bukowski Auktioner AB and was previously CEO of the insurance company SalusAnsvar within the Folksam Group. Sven Lindskog has been CFO of ICA Gruppen since July and was previously CFO of Höganäs. ICA Bank’s Board also includes Per Strömberg, Anders Svensson and Catharina Lagerstam. Sonat Burman-Olsson and Mikael Inglander have previously left the Board at their own request.

    ICA Bank applies for permit to conduct insurance business

    ICA Bank will submit an application to the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority for a permit to conduct insurance business. ICA Bank already offers insurance to private clients but now intends to conduct non-life insurance operations entirely under its own management.     ICA Bank’s current CEO Jörgen Wennberg will retire in September 2014. ICA Gruppen is therefore starting a recruitment process to find his successor. Jörgen Wennberg will remain as CEO of ICA Bank and a member of ICA Gruppen’s Executive Management until his retirement. “Jörgen Wennberg with his sound experience and major commitment to ICA has been crucial to the excellent development of ICA Bank right from the start”, says Per Strömberg, CEO of ICA Gruppen.
