Woo at the Zoo this February

February will be a month long celebration of animal attraction at Blackpool Zoo!

The half-term holiday, Valentine’s Day and the leap year tradition of female proposals on the 29th are being dubbed as the perfect time to ‘Woo at the Zoo’!

For the first time ever, the zoo is giving the public the chance to officially pop the question with the boys getting the chance on Valentine’s Day and the girls on the 29th.

After each of the 12.00pm and 2.00pm sea lion displays the selected person will be invited down to the front of the arena where they can propose in front of a 250 strong crowd!

For those that are looking for a little more privacy, there will be three opportunities throughout the day to take their beau into the beautiful Lemur Wood, hand feed the lemurs and go down on one knee in the idyllic surroundings.

To be in with a chance of being selected people must email Judith.rothwell@blackpoolzoo.org.uk with a great reason as to why they want to propose at Blackpool Zoo.

Maybe they met their future husband or wife whilst visiting or the zoo was the scene of their first date. Winners will be notified, in secret, ahead of the day so they have plenty of time to prepare!

Continuing the animal attraction theme, all the talks and feeds will be extended to include a ‘love fact’ about each animal and a ‘love’ themed quiz trail will take place every day throughout the half term holiday.

An extra special Lovebird adoption will also be on offer throughout the month and for just £20 visitors will receive a certificate, folder and pen and their name will be added to the sign outside the Lovebird enclosure – the perfect Valentine’s day gift!
