Nynas circular transformer oil achieves certification

Offering a fully circular transformer oil significantly enhances resource efficiency in the electrical industry. The solution provided by Nynas in collaboration with Stena has now been awarded a quality mark in the form of ISCC Plus certification.Since 2023, Stena Recycling has supplied Nynas with used oil from transformers. Stena collects discarded transformer oil via a European network, pre-treats it, and then delivers it to Nynas, where the oil is used as a raw material for the production of re-refined transformer oil. This circular solution has now also earned ISCC Plus certification.

New CEO of Nynas

The Board of Nynas has today decided to appoint Bo Askvik as interim President and CEO of Nynas.A program to improve the Nynas financial performance was initiated during the summer of 2018. The owners of Nynas demonstrated their support for the program by providing a shareholder loan of 1 100 SEK million. As the next step in the process, the Board has decided that a change of management is required. Gert Wendroth, the President and CEO since 2014, will now leave the company. Nynas’ sales increased to SEK 2,644 million (2,570) as a result of higher oil prices compared to the first quarter of 2017. Nynas reports fourth quarter and full year results 2017

Nynas increased its sales volumes by 5 per cent in the fourth quarter and by 7 per cent for the full year, compared to 2016.
