Charity Firework Extravaganza at Conkers

Moira, nr. Swadlincote – On Saturday 6th November 2010, Conkers Discovery Centre in the heart of the National Forest is playing host to Ashby Rotary and their annual fireworks display in aid of local charities. Doors open for the event at 5pm, with the first, smaller fireworks display taking place at 6.45pm then the main display at 7.30pm. Local Men Set to ‘Conker’ Three Peaks for Charity

On the 16th, 17th and 18th of October 2010, a four-man team from the Conkers visitor centre in Moira, at the heart of The National Forest, will embark upon the legendary ‘Three Peaks’ challenge in aid of two national charities. Gerry O’Brien, head ranger from Albert Village; Tom Chamberlain, a ranger from Castle Gresley and Tom Astle, catering assistant from Woodville will face the three peaks – ably assisted by their driver, Conker’s general manager, Chris Sturdy. Skydive survivor takes to the air again

Shropshire, UK – 25th June 2010 – Skydive survivor Paul Lewis is taking to the air once again to raise money for the Midland Air Ambulance, who saved his life almost a year ago.Lewis was moments away from death when both his main and reserve parachutes failed to open correctly during a 10,000ft skydive on 14th August 2009.
