Peab has been commissioned to renovate classrooms and expand the restaurant at the University pf Vaasa in Vaasa. The customer is Vaasan Merikampus Oy and the contract is worth EUR 10 million.

This is the third and final phase of a project that started in the autumn of 2020 at the Tervahovi Building, which was built in 1994 and is used for teaching and personnel offices. Through the renovation the building will better meet the needs of students and contain both classrooms and team offices as well as a student lounge. The personnel offices will continue to occupy their current quarters. The existing restaurant will be developed into a multi-faceted meeting place for the entire campus.

“We’re very pleased to be part of developing the campus with this project and improving conditions for both students and university personnel alike,” says Matti Joensuu, Region Manager Peab Finland.

The construction contract will be performed in partnering and Peab is the general contractor. Construction will begin in the next few days and the project is expected to be completed in April 2024.

The project will be order registered in the second quarter 2023.
