Peab renovates homes in Tromsø
Peab has been commissioned to renovate twelve apartment buildings in Tromsø. The customer is Knausen Bostadsrättsförening and the contract is worth NOK 141 million, about SEK 137 million.
The project includes adding insulation and wind proofing facades, replacing windows, balcony and front doors, upgrading entrance halls, building balconies as well as improving the ventilation system and insulating the parking garage. The tenant-owner association consists of 193 apartments spread over 12 buildings.
The project has a strong focus on sustainability and reuse, including plans to reuse material from other projects and use surplus material from construction sites in Tromsø.
"We’re grateful for the trust placed in us and look forward to starting the renovation work for the tenant-owner association. The project is complex in terms of both logistics and measures needed to reduce the inconvenience to residents during the construction period. Renovation is an important strategic area for Peab and we have extensive experience in this type of projects. We’re particularly pleased to promote circularity to reduce environmental impact," says Kjell Christoffersen, District Manager Peab Norway.
Work will begin in November 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2027.
The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2024.
