Svenska awarded two licenses in Norway

In the APA 2012 round Svenska Petroleum Exploration (Svenska) has been awarded two licenses offshore Mid-Norway.Svenska has been awarded a 20% interest in PL 689. The operator is DONG Energy with Spring Energy and Bayerngas as co-partners. Svenska has also been awarded a 30% interest in PL 690. Svenska Petroleum Exploration (Svenska) has, together with concessionaire Sonangol and partners Sonangol P&P and Maersk Oil (being operator), successfully completed drilling the Azul-1 exploration well in the Angolan pre-salt Kwanza Basin with positive results.Azul-1 is the first ever deep-water well targeting pre-salt reservoirs in the Kwanza Basin and it is the first well in Block 23. Svenska’s New Oil Discovery in Norway

Svenska Petroleum Exploration (Svenska) is delighted to announce the discovery of an oil field through the drilling of well 25/2-17, located 15 km east of the East Frigg Field in the Norwegian North Sea. Earlier a discovery has been made in the Gamma prospect in the same license with wells 25/2-10S and 25/2-11. Svenska holds a 40% interest in Production License 442 that is operated by StatoilHydro.The well encountered good quality oil in reservoir rocks belonging to the Frigg Formation. The discovery was not tested, but an extensive data collection and sampling has been carried out.

Svenska Petroleum Exploration announces the Ivory Coast and Republic of Congo exploration farm-ins

Svenska Petroleum Exploration AB (Svenska) announces it has progressed two farm-in deals to enhance its West African exploration position.Svenska has entered into a farm-in agreement with Edison International S.p.A to acquire a 20 per cent working interest position in Block CI-24 in the Ivory Coast. An exploration well on the Virgo prospect is expected to be drilled next year.Svenska is also pleased to announce it has entered into a farm-in agreement with Perenco Exploration and Production (Congo) Ltd to acquire a 29.75 per cent working interest in Marine Block IV in the Republic of Congo.
