    Business Finland grants significant support to SSAB’s Sustainable World through Steels research and development program

    Business Finland, a Finnish public innovation funding organization, has granted SSAB EUR 20 million in funding for a new Sustainable World through Steels research and development program, aimed at the transition to fossil‑free steel production and the development of low‑carbon products in collaboration with customers.     In connection with groundworks at the construction site of SSAB’s new steel mill in Luleå, a total of approximately 20 individuals employed by subcontractors have reported illness-like symptoms.     Waste heat from SSAB Hämeenlinna feeds into Loimua’s district heating network

    The heating and cooling plant built by energy company Loimua at SSAB’s Hämeenlinna site is now complete and operational.
