    SSAB expands steel powder production capacity in Oxelösund

    SSAB is expanding its facility for steel powder for additive manufacturing in Oxelösund, enabling production at commercial scale, strengthening SSAB’s position in advanced materials, and meeting growing demand for high-performance metal powders for 3D printing.     TWINGHY, a project co-funded by the EU, mainly aims to introduce hydrogen as a fuel to replace natural gas in reheating furnaces in the steel sector.     SSAB and its subsidiary Ruukki Construction are involved in a sustainability research project that aims to reduce the use of fossil raw materials in sheet products in the construction industry.     Tekes funds steel research by EUR 2 million

    SSAB has received funding approaching EUR 2 million for product and process development from Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation.
