    Record Stena Line first half passenger numbers to Holland approach quarter of a million

    Stena Line transported a total of 246,000 passengers between Harwich and the Hook of Holland in the first six months of 2013. The figure represented an increase of 14,000 passengers on the North Sea route, a 5.9 per cent uplift compared to the same period in 2012 and the largest first-half passenger volumes since the current timetable was established six years ago.     To celebrate the 120[th] anniversary of the Harwich - Hook of Holland ferry route, Stena Line has launched a special ‘Go Dutch’ campaign, offering UK travellers two-for-one savings on all crossings on its North Sea route this June.     Stena Line breaks annual North Sea traffic records in golden anniversary year

    Stena Line achieved record full-year passenger and car volumes on its North Sea route in 2012. The ferry operator, which celebrated its 50[th] anniversary in 2012, transported 521,000 passengers and 110,000 cars on its Harwich-Hook of Holland service through the course of the year. The numbers represented the highest annual volumes on the current timetable, which was implemented after the end of 2006.     From the beginning of September the Stena Carrier and Stena Freighter on the Rotterdam-Harwich route will be replaced by two new, smaller vessels.     Stena Line posts record H1 volumes to Holland

    Stena Line carried more passengers and cars on its Harwich-Hook of Holland route in the first six months of 2012 than during any first-half period since the launch of the current timetable, five years ago. The ferry operator increased overall number of passengers across the North Sea for the January-June period by 1.9 per cent and numbers of cars by 1.7 per cent.
