Connect to Nature with Fall Wellness Classes at Wave Hill

Looking for a relaxing way to stay active during the glorious days of fall? Gently strengthen mind and body with restorative weekend sessions of Tai Chi, Hatha Yoga and Meditation at Wave Hill. Set within the exquisite natural surroundings of Wave Hill, these classes promote flexibility, serenity and a deep sense of awareness—both of self and the natural world around us.

In addition to these classes, all are welcome to attend a free session of Community Tai Chi on Saturday, September 13. Led by instructor Irving Yee, this drop-in session introduces you to the sequence of nature-inspired movements that makes Tai Chi beneficial for maintaining lifelong health and wellbeing.

During the fall months, Tai Chi and Yoga take place outdoors, weather permitting. Meditation takes place both indoors and outdoors. Session fees include admission to the grounds.

Tai Chi Chuan, Saturdays in September, October and November, 10–11AM

Quiet like a mountain, moving like a river, Tai Chi is a sequence of gentle movements based on images found in nature. In this beginner-level class, Irving Yee, a member of the William CC Chen Tai Chi School, introduces students to the internal martial arts and promotes an awareness of its benefits. $25/$15 Wave Hill Member.       

  

Free Community Tai Chi, Saturday, September 13, 11AM–12:15PM

Hatha Yoga, Sundays in September, October and November, 10–11:15AM

Reduce stress, increase your energy and bring strength and flexibility to mind, body and spirit with a yoga practice. Classes are led by Yoga for Bliss director Neem Dewji and other certified instructors. Ms. Dewji is certified in Hatha and Therapeutic Yoga from The Yoga for Health Foundation, England, and The Integral Yoga Institute, NYC. All levels welcome. $25/$15 Wave Hill Member.

Meditation, Sundays in September, October and November, 11:45AM–12:45PM

This fall, let nature inspire you to find your center and reconnect with your true self using guided mindfulness and other meditation practices. Each session includes instruction in simple techniques followed by guided meditations. Classes are led by Yoga for Bliss director Neem Dewji and other qualified instructors. All levels welcome. $20/$10 Wave Hill Member.

 

Registration: Registration is required for all sessions. Registration is not required for the Free Community Tai Chi session, but is recommended. Register online and, day of, onsite at the Perkins Visitor Center. Advance registration online receives a $2 discount.

Wave Hill, Inc. is an independent, non-profit cultural institution governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The buildings and grounds of Wave Hill are owned by the City of New York.
