The Story: Awaited – The Voice is a Powerful Thing … Russell Leonard is a centuries-old Guardian who’s lost faith in his purpose. So when he’s charged with procuring the first female Guardian in over two centuries, he can only hope it’s the red-headed beauty who’s been haunting his dreams for months. And if it is, he intends to claim her as his. But when he finds his dream woman, Annabelle is mute and bears no Guardian’s Mark. He soon realizes she’s been tainted by an ancient evil. Russell must somehow release the secrets trapped within this delicate soul to help her tap into the only weapon powerful enough to silence a millennia-old demon—her voice.
“The bloggers on the ‘Awaited’ Book Tour asked terrific questions. I got a chance to get my books in front of new audiences that subscribe to the blogs introducing them to my stories. And I didn’t even have to leave my office,” she says. “Paranormal authors like me write about guardians and demons … and even vampires. But most of us are very nice. We hardly ever bite … except in our books, of course.”

“The publishing world is ever-changing. It’s fun to be a part of it by offering a 99-cent short story to reach new readers and share more in-depth details of the novels to those who have read them and are clamoring for more,” said author Lynn Rush.
“There’s a lot that can happen when you’re eighteen or even twenty five years old. The fact is that those same events feel very different at that age than they do when you are twelve years old – or forty years old,” explained Rush. “Because I write Paranormal romance, sometimes my characters are centuries old - but their human contacts are in the new adult age range.”
“From the first action-packed scene, AWAITED grabs you and doesn't let go until its awesome conclusion.
“A Must Read … Awaited will have you on the edge of your seat right from the start … Visceral and intense, the opening chapter of this book will have your heart beating faster and your eyes skipping ahead to see what happens next.”
“I know I speak for Lynn when I say Thank You for your support for Wasteland.” David dips his head. “We are honored you are enjoying our story. She tells us there are over 100 five-star reviews between something called Goodreads and Amazon.” Beka shakes her head. “He’s really resisting the technology.” “That is what I have you for.” David grins at Beka.
Do you find it hard to share your work with others? Sometimes I do. I once equated sharing my work to standing naked in a room with windows that had no coverings. Artists, whether it’s writing, drawing, painting, dancing…bare their souls in their work, so that’s a little vulnerable. But the excitement and satisfaction of sharing my work overrides the difficulties hands down. I love this journey I’m on!
Any new projects coming up? Awaited, the second book in the Wasteland trilogy releases May 1. I’m super excited for my strapping young—well, four-century old—Guardian’s story to hit the shelves. Following closely on the heels of Awaited is the first of a new trilogy, Violet Midnight. It takes a step away from the Guardians and into a world of Vampires and Hunters. And of course love.
“WASTELAND is a fast paced, sexy, romantic tale with characters who instantly capture your attention…and your heart,” said Rebecca Zanetti, author of FATED. “The hero is honorable and darkly tormented, while the heroine is idealistic and strong. Lynn Rush has created a world of good and evil—where nothing is quite as it seems. I lost myself in the story and truly enjoyed every minute of it.”
