EQL Pharma will soon complement its current “nasal swab” Covid-19 antigen test with a saliva-based CE marked self-test for quick detection of a Covid-19 infection. “You basically spit in a cup rather that swab the nasal cavity with a tops” says the vice president Axel Schörling, “then the saliva is mixed with a reagent and dripped on a reagent stick which will show if there is virus present in about 5-15 minutes”.The test is the first CE marked of its kind that can be sold and used by normal consumers rather than healthcare professionals, and EQL has an exclusivity for it on the Nordic
