DOF has entered into an agreement with Fugro for a new contract for Skandi Olympia.The new contract starts in March 2012 for a period of 2 years + 1 year option. As a result of this new contract with Fugro, DOF will utilize new build 82 at Cochin Shipyard (Skandi Hawk) on the last of the three RSV contracts Norskan Offshore won with Petrobras in October 2010. According to a survey commissioned by DK Eyewitness Travel the world city with the friendliest inhabitants is New York. Dubliners with their Irish charm come a close second, with the residents of Amsterdam third. Joint fourth place goes to Glaswegians, and surprisingly, notoriously unfriendly Londoners. Indeed, when asked which city in the world had the most unfriendly inhabitants London came second only to Paris, with over a quarter (26%) of those who gave an opinion choosing Londoners the most unfriendly and 29% plumping for the Parisians. 59,000 SEK for a kitchen

59,000 SEK is the average amount people are willing to spend on a total kitchen renovation, including whiteware. People living in Stockholm are willing to spend more. One in four in the capital would spend more than 100 000 SEK and one in ten more than 150 000 SEK. People living in northern Sweden are willing to spend the least amount on a new kitchen.  14 percent are not willing to spend more than 10 000 SEK for a total kitchen renovation, including appliances, sinks and tiles. Action urged as female IT applications fall

More needs to be done to encourage women to pursue a career in IT, according to specialist recruitment consultancy IntaPeople . The company issued the statement after finding that the percentage of applications made by female workers has dropped by 1.7% in the last 12 months.Comparing the first quarter of 2011 with the same period last year, IntaPeople’s research revealed that the number of women applying for IT positions fell from an already-low 18.2% to just 16.5%. The company analysed applications for 100 randomly selected IT vacancies over each period.

Peab expands the E4 south of Sundsvall

Peab has been contracted to implement the expansion of E4 South Myre-Skönsmons at Sundsvall. The customer is Transport Authority and the contract amounts to SEK 1.1 billion.The project includes the construction of 17 km road, of which 14.5 km of motorways, interchanges at Myre, Njurunda and Stockvik, 28 bridges, and diversion of 1 km of railway on the East Coast line at a new intersection of the E4.The project is a turnkey contract with the functional requirements and future operational maintenance commitment. Arctic Gold AB (ARCT): Increased mineral resources in Bidjovagge.

An increase in the mineral resource in Bidjovagge by 10 % has been shown through an updated report from Outotec. The estimation shows 1.53 million tons indicated resource with 2.58 g/t gold and 1.20 % copper and 30,000 tons of inferred resource with 2.2 g/t gold and 1.1 % copper. The resource refers to resources on location in the bedrock at a cut-off of 2.0 g/t of gold.  The complete report carried out by Outotec according to JORC standard gives the tonnage as well as grades also at a cut off of 1.0 g/t gold.
