Eltel and Caruna sign a EUR 50 million frame agreement for cabling projects in Finland

Eltel and Caruna have signed a frame agreement to improve the power distribution network in the southwestern regions of Finland. Improvements in medium-voltage networks will be carried out over the next three years. The total value of the agreement is EUR 50 million and it will extend until September 2018. The new agreement will continue earlier projects between the two companies. The tendering process was in form of a public offering.The agreement is based on a turnkey model. It consists of several separate projects, in which overhead power lines will be replaced by underground cables.

Breaking ground for the HSB Living Lab research arena

Construction is now starting on HSB Living Lab, the research arena for housing of the future. For ten years this mobile and flexible building will function as a living laboratory for technical and architectural innovations. Architects from Tengbom have designed the building and are partners in the research work together with HSB, Chalmers University of Technology and Rice University.Work on the HSB Living Lab research arena will start on 11 September at the Swedish Modules factory. Forty-four flexible modules will be produced for subsequent assembly on Chalmers’ campus in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Persons sleeping less than 6 hours or more than 10 hours suffer from low-grade inflammation more often than persons sleeping 7-8 hours per night. This was observed in a University of Eastern Finland study focusing on the health and lifestyle habits among middle-aged men. Two recent clinical studies, both independent and randomized, show that Bactiguard-coated Foley catheters and endotracheal tubes reduce catheter associated urinary tract infections and ventilator associated pneumonia.The first study was conducted in Spain and included 116 patients catheterized for2 – 14 days, with a mean of 4 days, during the immediate postoperative period following cardiac surgery.
