Report on operations 2004: Vitrolife doubles operating income

• Sales increased by 8 percent, to SEK 103.9 (96.3) million. Adjusted for exchange-rate effects the increase was 11 percent. During the fourth quarter sales amounted to SEK 24.6 (24.0) million, corresponding to an increase of 3 percent. Adjusted for exchange-rate effects the increase was 6 percent. • Gross income increased by 21 percent to SEK 74.4 (61.6) million and thereby the gross margin improved to 72 percent (64). Business area Extended Care’s production facility for patient handling equipment in Gloucester, UK, has had a temporary ban imposed on it by the FDA for deliveries to the US.

The source of the ban was an inspection carried out at the Gloucester facility by the FDA in August 2004, after which the FDA commented about the quality assurance system. According to the FDA their comments have not been taken into consideration sufficiently, nor have proper measures been taken within a reasonable period following the inspection. The current situation is that Extended Care has carried out all the imposed measures and strengthened the management functions of the quality assurance system at the Gloucester facility. Munters has received an order for 10 precooling systems for large gasturbines from Siemens. The units will be installed in power plants in the Middle East.Munters Euroform GmbH, has received orders for 10 precooling systems for large Siemens gas turbines in the Middle East. Haldex Air Management Division (a part of the Commercial Vehicle Systems business area) has signed a contract with a major global diesel engine manufacturer to supply truck brake system air compressors for their North American production. Vattenfall reports strong annual accounts for 2004: Financial strength creates headroom to invest for the future

Today, the Vattenfall group presents strong full-year results for 2004. The Swedish util-ity has again exceeded the previous year’s profits, improved its financial performance and further reduced net debt.While net sales rose by just 1.3 per cent to SEK 113,366 (111,935) million during 2004, the operating profit (EBIT) increased by 28.2 per cent to SEK 19,607 million (15,296). Veidekke doubles profit from 2003

Veidekke reports a very good year in 2004, with a profit of NOK 342 million. The greatest headway was seen in Norwegian operations, where both construction and property development showed a solid upswing in profits. For operations in Denmark, Hoffmann, the positive results for the fourth quarter also show that the weak trend in the first six months has been turned around. In Sweden, Veidekke strengthened its position as a property developer, while a substantial write-down of a heavy construction project contributed to a negative overall figure for the Swedish construction operations.
