Peab builds high-rise in Esbo, Finland

Peab has been commissioned to build a high-rise in the city of Esbo, Finland. The customer is the state-owned rental company A-Kruunu and the contract is worth EUR 15 million. The new high-rise will contain 121 apartments totaling 6,400 m2. The project is a turnkey contract and work begins in August 2018. The apartments are expected to be ready in August 2020. The project will be order registered in the second quarter of 2018. Existing relay technology in use at level crossings will eventually be phased out and replaced by a completely new technology: Automatic Level Crossing, ALEX. This new technology will bring about a step change in working methods on the railway. As part of an initial stage, the Transport Administration will design 16 pilot installations. Volvo Buses has secured an order of 23 fully electric buses from public transport company Arriva in the Netherlands. Malmö University has signed a ten-year lease with Wihlborgs for 9,000 m² on two floors at Kranen 2 in Dockan, Malmö. The premises will be used for the practical stages of the police training programme, which will start in Malmö in early 2019.Malmö University has been tasked with conducting police training in Malmö, starting in January 2019. It is now clear that the training programme will be located at the university’s former premises at Kranen 2 on Östra Varvsgatan in Dockan. Tsuyama Chuo Proton Beam Center, Japan, treats first patients with RayStation

Tsuyama Chuo Hospital in Okayama Prefecture, southwest Japan, has commenced clinical use of RayStation to plan pencil beam scanning (PBS) treatments at its Proton Beam Cancer Center. On 15 May, the center carried out the world’s first patient treatment using RayStation together with Mitsubishi Electric’s proton therapy system, with a plan created in RayStation 6.The proton center opened in 2016 and is run jointly with Okayama University. It is equipped with Mitsubishi Electric’s proton therapy system, featuring the SELECTBEAM nozzle, which supports both PBS and uniform scanning (US).
