Aker Solutions Wins Umbilicals Contract for the King's Quay Development

June 10, 2020 - Aker Solutions was awarded a contract from Subsea 7 to deliver umbilicals for Murphy Exploration and Production Company - USA’s King’s Quay development in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The work scope includes 22 kilometers (14 miles) of dynamic steel-tube umbilicals and distribution equipment to connect the King’s Quay floating production system (FPS) to the Samurai, Khaleesi and Mormont deepwater developments. The King's Quay semisubmersible FPS will be located around 280 kilometers (175 miles) south of New Orleans in the Green Canyon area of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

FFI selects GomSpace to build military communication satellite

Today, GomSpace signed a contract to develop and deliver a nanosatellite to the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI). The contract is worth 19 MSEK. In October 2019, Equinor awarded Aibel a FEED contract (Front-End Engineering Design) for electrification of Sleipner. The contract has now been extended to an EPCIC contract (engineering, procurement, construction, installation and completion) through an additional contract from Equinor. The EPCIC contract brings approximately 170 full-time equivalents over a two-year period at Aibel's office in Stavanger and at the yard in Haugesund.
