    AFRY awarded owner’s engineering services assignment for 6 gas-fired cogeneration power plant projects in Thailand

    AFRY   Press Release 9[th] July 2020 at 09:00 (CEST)B.Grimm Power, one of South East Asia’s largest private power producers,  have awarded AFRY with an Owner’s Engineer services assignment for six gas-fired cogeneration power plant projects in Rayong, Chonburi & Ang Thong provinces in Thailand. Construction of the first project started in May and the remaining projects will start before the end of the year. The six projects are located across four site locations serving industrial power and heat customers in Laem Chanang, Amata City, Asia Rayong and World Food Valley Industrial Estates.

    AFRY India awarded Detailed Design Consultancy Services Contract for a 1200 MW Pumped Storage Project to be developed by an IPP in India.

    On March 18[th ]2020, AFRY India received Letter of Award from Greenko Energy Projects Ltd. (leading renewable IPP in India) for providing Detailed Design Engineering services of 1200MW, Pinnapuram Integrated Renewable Energy Pumped Storage Project in the southern part of India, a first of its kind Pumped Storage project to be developed by an IPP in India.     ÅF is awarded a new contract for extension of the Pumped Storage Hydro Power Plant Lamtakong in Thailand. ÅF in Switzerland signed a contract with EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand) for the Owner Engineering Consulting Services on installing units 3 and 4 for the Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana Hydro Pump Storage Power Plant.     ÅF assigned new hydropower project

    ÅF is to supply Skogsforsen’s hydropower plant in Ätran with new electrical and control equipment. The assignment is a full-service undertaking in which ÅF will be responsible for electrical design, PLC programming, electrical installations and commissioning.     Kerava Energy choses Balance+

    ÅF in Tampere Finland has made a new Balance+ contract with Kerava Energy. Kerava Energy operates a bio-based CHP power plant whose boiler type is BFB (bubbling fluidized bed boiler). The power plant’s thermal capacity is 73 MW, electricity capacity 21 MW, process heat capacity 10 MW and district heat capacity 42 MW. The Balance+ implementation will improve the plant’s existing conventional main controls resulting in better thermal efficiency, higher boiler load, lower minimum load, lower auxiliary power consumption, improved robustness to disturbances and increased boiler life-cycle.

    Pumped Hydro Power Plant in Austria

    ÅF has signed a contract of several million Euro with Pumpspeicherkraftwerk Koralm GmbH to provide the engineering services for the Koralm Pumped Storage Power Plant in Styria, Austria. The Koralm Pumped Storage Power Plant has a capacity of approximately 940 MW. The project essentially comprises upper and lower reservoirs, headrace tunnel, penstock and tailrace tunnel, surge tank, cavern powerhouse with access tunnel, tunnel system, power transmission line and switchyard.     Newly signed contract - small hydro power plant in Switzerland

    ÅF signed a contract as Owner’s Engineer for the new small hydro power plant Cotlan in Rüti. Two 80 year-old Francis turbines with a total capacity of 0.32 KW are still in operation today. This small hydro power plant was originally the power supply of the textile manufacturer “Textilfabriken Cotlan AG”, whose production buildings and the employee houses still exist and are stringently protected by the cultural heritage ordinance. In a significant increase of performance, the headrace of the new power plant will go from 12 meters to 18.6 meters and the capacity will be rise to 2.3 MW.

    Construction of new hydropower plant

    ÅF has been commissioned to lead the construction of Tännfallet’s new power plant in Härjedalen.     New Balance+ control renewal project in Rayong

    ÅF in Finland has signed a new Balance+ contract with Glow Energy Public Company Limited in Thailand. Glow Energy is one of the main private electricity producers in Thailand and it is part of GDF Suez. Glow Energy’s CFB3, a coal-fired circulating fluidized bed boiler unit, located in Rayong province, has net electric capacity of 85 MWe and export steam 79 t/hr.     ÅF has signed an Owner’s Engineer contract with Riikinvoima Oy for a new CHP plant in the Varkaus area, about 300 km north-east of Helsinki, Finland.
