The best thing about Lancashire is its people, according to a survey carried out by The Mall Blackburn to celebrate Lancashire Day. More than 50 per cent of voters in the We Love Lancashire Facebook poll said Lancashire folk were what they loved most about the county while the weather polled the least number of votes! THE MALL BLACKBURN BUCKS NATIONAL DOWNWARD TREND

The Mall Blackburn is bucking the national trend after announcing its April footfall figures. The number of people visiting the £66m redeveloped shopping centre was up more than nine per cent on the same trading period as last year, with the busiest week seeing a 23 per cent increase. This is a stark contrast to the latest UK wide figures which, according to research group Springboard, show that the footfall is down 0.8 per cent compared to April 2010.
