The Regional State Administrative Agency for Western and Inland Finland (AVI) has on 28 June 2022 granted the environmental permit for Keliber’s lithium chemical plant. Court Rejects Kokkola City Council’s Zoning Approval for Länttä

The Vaasa Administrative Court has rejected Kokkola City Council’s zoning approval decision concerning the partial master plan for the Länttä mining area in Ullava, Kokkola. The City Council approved the plan on 25 March 2021, but an appeal against the decision was lodged in April. The municipalities of Kaustinen and Kronoby have granted a building permit for Keliber’s Päiväneva concentrator plant. The decision was taken by the Environmental Protection Committee of Kaustinen and the Building Control of Kronoby in June 2022. The permit applies to the concentrator building and a related, combined laboratory and control room building. Mineral Resources from Keliber’s New Tuoreetsaaret Lithium Deposit

Keliber has discovered a new lithium deposit, Tuoreetsaaret, located between the Rapasaari and Syväjärvi deposits. The maiden Mineral Resource estimate for the Tuoreetsaaret deposit was completed in June 2022. The Mineral Resources (all Inferred) of Tuoreetsaaret are 1.41 million tonnes with an average grade of 0.70% Li₂O, which increases Keliber’s total Mineral Resources by 9 percent, to 17.03 million tonnes (previously 15.62 million tonnes).Keliber initiated the exploration campaign at the Tuoreetsaaret area in March 2020. Pilot Trial Based on Ore from Keliber’s Largest Deposit Resulted in High Conversion Rate

Keliber has completed the first three phases of a four-phase pilot-scale test programme. The zoning for Keliber´s Syväjärvi, Rapasaari and Outovesi mining areas and the Päiväneva concentrator area have been approved by the Kokkola City Council and the Municipal Councils of Kaustinen and Kronoby, regarding regions concerning them. Keliber Has Received the Mining Permit for the Rapasaari Mining Area

The Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) has granted a mining permit for the Rapasaari mining area on 23 March 2022. Tukes has granted a mining permit for Keliber’s Rapasaari mining area under the Mining Act 621/2011. The Rapasaari mining area was established under Section 19 of the Mining Act. The mining permit was applied for the mining of lithium ore from the Rapasaari deposit and for the placement of a concentrator plant in the nearby situated Päiväneva area.
