Green Apple Award recognises environmental breakthrough at O-I Alloa

O-I Alloa has won Gold in the Scottish Green Apple Awards in recognition of its environmental efforts. The award was presented jointly to O-I and Edrington for the two companies’ achievement in creating the lightest ever embossed glass bottle for a premium Scotch whisky. It was accepted by Scott Gibb, Scottish Sales Manager for O-I and Mike Rose, Technical Services Director at Edrington at Edinburgh Castle. O-I has launched an ultra-lightweight, 300g whisky bottle to the general trade following development at its Alloa plant in Scotland.
