Research study indicates large methane emissions from Siljan Ring area
New research conducted by Chalmers Technical University in Gothenburg show that emissions of methane are considerably larger than what can expected from normal decomposition of biological material.The Siljan Ring in Dalarna, Sweden, is the result of a meteor impact that occurred 377 million years ago and has a diameter of 100 km. Lakes Siljan, Orsasjön, and Oresjön are all situated within this crater.
