Three Frank Sytner owned single-seater race cars from the 1970’s representing Formula’s One, Two and Three, which have recently returned from the prestigious Historic Grand Prix of Monaco event, are to be auctioned at the Silverstone Classic Sale on 21st July. Leading the pack is a 1972 Formula One March 721G, estimated at between £240,000 to £280,000. Silverstone Auctions plans more Porsche success

A stunning 1968 911L is an early Porsche entry into Silverstone Auctions forthcoming Classic Sale and if past results are anything to go by then it’s sure to do well. Indeed, in Silverstone Auctions previous two events held this year the 15 Porsche models on offer achieved an impressive 80 per cent sale rate, ranging from £6,050 to £204,600 in price. This particular 911 model, estimated at between £34,000 to £38,000, is an early example of the ‘L’ (Luxe) specification and comes with an extensive servicing history, recently maintained by marque experts including Autofarm and Export 56.

Speed Twin’s are a triumph!

Fans of two wheels were out in force at last weekend’s Race Retro Sale hosted by Silverstone Auctions. Among the motorbikes sold were a Triumph Speed Twin dating from 1946 which sold for a premium inclusive £9,570 and another from 1964 which fetched £3,300. Italian motorbikes also proved popular and models which changed hands included a 1973 Lambretta Li 150 Special for £3,960, a pink 1966 Piaggio Vespa 150 Super for £2,000 and a stylish 1968 Piaggio Vespa 150 Sprint for £2,035.
