The General Council of the Riksbank has, in accordance with the Sveriges Riksbank Act, submitted a proposal to the Riksdag (the Swedish parliament) regarding the allocation of the Riksbank's profits for the financial year 2020. The General Council proposes that SEK 6.8 billion be transferred to the Treasury. This proposal has been calculated in accordance with the guidelines applying since 1988. According to the guidelines, 80 per cent of the past five years’ average profit, after certain adjustments, shall be transferred to the Treasury to contribute to strengthening public finances.
