Atlas Copco completes acquisition of MEYCO

Stockholm, Sweden, April 3, 2013: Atlas Copco (Schweiz) AG has closed the acquisition of Switzerland-based MEYCO Equipment business.MEYCO had revenues in 2012 of MEUR 22 (MSEK 190) and about 45 employees. Its products include carrier-mounted concrete spraying equipment, concrete spraying arms, pumps and dosing units, mainly for underground operations. The acquired business is part of the Underground Rock Excavation division within the Mining and Rock Excavation Technique business area. Atlas Copco announced on Dec. 21, 2012 that it had agreed to purchase MEYCO.

Alfa Laval wins SEK 60 million energy-efficiency order in Canada

Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has won an order to supply plate heat exchangers for cooling applications in Canada. PA Resources advises that the Noble Energy-operated I-7 exploration well on the Carla South exploration prospect in Block I (PA Resources 5.7%) was spudded by the Atwood Hunter semi-submersible drilling rig just before Easter.The Carla South prospect lies on trend with the Carla North discovery recently appraised in Block O to the north of Block I in Equatorial Guinea. The target is Tertiary sandstones of similar age to those in the discovery to the north and the well is expected to take around 25 days to reach total depth, with plans for a subsequent sidetrack of similar duration.
