ÅF granted project to increase capacity of freight corridor
The Swedish Transport Agency has appointed ÅF to develop tender documentation for design-and-build contracts, and deliver construction monitoring services for Hallsberg – Degerön, a part of the Bergslagen freight corridor, at an estimated value of 65 MSEK.The Bergslagen freight corridor runs from Storvik via Hallsberg to Mjölby. It is one of Sweden’s most important railway stretches and mostly carries freight but also some passenger traffic. The purpose of the double-track extension is to increase capacity, achieve high punctuality and improve safety along the line. ”We are delighted
