Gasum secures long-term LNG capacity at Klaipeda terminal for 2033–2040
The agreement supports Gasum’s long-term strategic ambition to be a reliable partner in the energy transition.Gasum has secured LNG terminal capacity at the Klaipeda LNG terminal in Lithuania for the period 2033–2040. The long-term capacity reservation supports Gasum’s ability to supply the Northwestern European market with liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied biomethane (bio-LNG) over the coming decade.

The energy company Gasum and Stora Enso have signed a contract to build a biogas plant at Stora Enso’s Nymölla paper mill in Sweden. The plant, built and operated by Gasum, will turn the mill’s waste water effluent into renewable energy.Gasum plans to produce Liquefied Biogas (LBG) and sell as fuel for cars, buses, trucks, and ferries. The Nymölla biogas plant project includes biogas production, upgrading and liquefaction. The expected LBG production of the plant is 220 MWh per day. Start-up is expected during 2020.
