    Here is a selection of what has been published in Lantmännen's newsroom during the year. Continuous collaborations – with academia, industry and the public sector, among others – characterized the entire year, not least at Borgeby Field Days and Almedalen. And as usual, the media was dominated by the harvest - important to all farmers and to Sweden in general.     Lanthem, with Lantmännen and Hemsö, acquires properties on Gotland

    Lanthem, a real estate company jointly owned by Lantmännen Real Estate and Hemsö, has entered into an agreement with Hemsö to acquire nine community properties on Gotland. The largest tenant is Region Gotland. The acquisition took place on December 16, 2024.The properties cover a rentable area of 38,000 square meters and mainly house elderly care operations. Region Gotland rents most of the space, which, in addition to elderly care, also includes a health center, dental care, and LSS (support and service for persons with certain functional impairments) operations.  Lanthem, equally owned

    Lantmännen Continues and Deepens Whole Grain Commitment through New Initiative Whole Grain Promotion and Research Collaborations

    Lantmännen has long worked with both academia and industry to increase knowledge about whole grain. The latest examples are involvement in the newly started FullkornsFrämjandet (Whole Grain Promotion initiative) and several studies, including research collaborations with the University of Copenhagen and Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.     Climate goals can be exceeded in Swedish pig production according to new report

    A new report, the third in Lantmännen's knowledge series Farming of the Future, describes the path to climate-neutral and at the same time profitable pig production by 2050. Based on opportunities identified by the study, the climate impact of pig production can be reduced by 43 percent between 2020 and 2030 – better than the climate target set within the Science Based Target initiative.By 2050, the scenario shows a possible reduction of 56 percent and increased potential for carbon sequestration in crop production.     The Swedish Research Council Formas is investing SEK 300 million in five new centres focusing on increased preparedness and competitiveness in the food system.     Lantmännen's divestment of Scandbio completed

    Lantmännen's divestment of Scandbio, which was communicated in mid-October, has now been approved by the relevant authorities and completed. Scandbio is thereby now owned by LEAG Group.Scandbio is a producer of fuel pellets and has been part of Lantmännen since 2014. Today, Scandbio has production at five facilities in Sweden and one in Latvia. Sales are primarily in Sweden, Latvia, and Denmark.     Karriärföretagen highlight Sweden's most attractive employers, so-called Karriärföretag, and are a recognition for companies that offer unique career and development opportunities.Before an appointment can be considered, a review and score assessment of each company is carried out. Those who meet all the basic criteria are reviewed by a panel of experts who, among other things, score career pages on websites, social media and activities.     Only 37 percent feel secure with Sweden's food supply in a crisis, according to a survey

    In connection with MSB sending out the leaflet "In case of crisis or war" to millions of Swedish homes, Lantmännen presents worrying figures.     The investment of SEK 1.2 billion in a new plant for plant-based protein in Lidköping is the largest investment of its kind in Sweden. Today, plant-based protein is mainly used as an ingredient in vegetarian foods and beverages – such as vegetarian mince, hamburgers, sausages and liver pâté, but also in sports drinks, gluten-free pasta and bakery products.
