Triton College Board of Trustees approves tax abatement of $2.4 million
Triton College’s Board of Trustees has approved a tax abatement that will provide relief to households within the college’s district during these struggling economical times. During the March 19 board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a $2.4 million tax abatement from funds available from the college’s 2012 Tax Levy reserve. The abatement – which is rare for an educational institution, let alone a community college – will provide a refund of approximately $24 to property owners with homes valued at $300,000.
