100 years of pulp production in Joutseno mill
Joutseno mill is celebrating its centenary. The mill was founded on 18th ofJanuary 1908 after the financial department of the imperial senate of Finlanddecided to approve Osakeyhtiö Pulp's (Pulp Ltd) Articles of Association.The mill was founded by a Norwegian construction engineer Johan ChristofferWiese, and started its operations in May 1909. At that time the capacity of themill was 6 000 tons unbleached pulp per year. Today Joutseno mill produces annually 645 000 tons of ECF bleached softwoodpulp.
